Course Outline
The course will explore Parkinson’s Disease – its symptoms and effects on both patients, carers and families. It will cover care, treatment, support and communication and its implications in dementia care.
Aims of the Course
By the end of the course participants will
- Gain an understanding of facts and myths around Parkinsons and Parkinsonism
- Know the various types of the disease
- Understand the relationship between Parkinsons and Dementia
- The Phases, neurology, diagnosis and impact
- Develop skills in the everyday care of people with the disease
- Learn appropriate communication strategies.
