Isle of Anglesey County Council

Paying your rent

Your tenancy agreement with Isle of Anglesey County Council says your rent is due weekly in advance on Monday of each week.

This means you must:

  • pay in advance from the date the tenancy started until the day you return the keys and move out (including any payments of Housing Benefit)
  • give four weeks’ notice with the notice period ending on a Sunday if you want to give up your tenancy and move out
  • make sure your rent is up-to-date when you move out

If your rent account is in credit, you can ask for a refund.

Rents and service charges are increased every April. We will write to you in advance to let you know about these changes.

How you can pay

Please do not send cash through the post.

Direct Debit

This is the easiest way to pay your rent.

To set up a direct debit you must have a bank account. Anyone can open a bank account, regardless of their credit rating.

For more information or advice on setting up a bank account, contact Housing Support Services on 01248 750 057

When you set-up a direct debit your rent is paid automatically on a monthly basis; all you need to do is make sure you have enough money in your account on the payment date. We currently offer a range of payment dates. You can choose a day which best suits you.

To set up a direct debit:

  1. Contact the council’s rent section to request a direct debit form or contact your Housing Management Officer.  Please inform us if you require assistance to complete the form.
  2. Complete the form.
  3. Post the form back to the council using the freepost envelope provided or returning it to the County Offices, Llangefni, LL77 7TW.
