UK CRF Adfywio Môn Renewal Programme


Following a successful bid, the regeneration function was awarded £580,000 from the UK Government’s Community Renewal Fund. The Adfywio Môn Programme took place between January and December 2022 described as an integrated programme of innovative pilots and trials (as a basis for evidencing future broader interventions), making the most of cultural, linguistic and woodland assets, along with enhancing sustainability/greening of other physical assets to enhance the economy, community and ‘place’

Eiconau Môn (Anglesey Icons)

Projects to improve and make better use of heritage assets as drivers of regeneration and sustainable tourism, including:

  • training local visitor guides (via Wales Official Tourist Guides Association)
  • ‘Tech Twristiaeth’ App for visitors (via M-SParc) that encourages the user to explore 5 towns in Anglesey to unlock an interactive story telling experience of the area’s rich history
  • surveys and plans for specific heritage asset regeneration schemes

Coedwig Môn (Anglesey Woodland)

Projects to support woodland and tree cover on the island, including:

  • baseline surveys/mapping of existing tree/woodland
  • studies to identify potential improvements/ planting schemes

Ynys Werdd (Green Island)

Projects to support and increase green infrastructure provision and planning, including:

  • baseline mapping of existing GI and strategic/policy position

Iaith Môn (Anglesey Language)

Projects to support and increase the use of the Welsh language at a community level, including:

  • grants to community organisations and small businesses (via Menter Môn)
  • support for Menter Iaith community and family support activities (via Menter Môn)
  • surveys and research forming a basis for future plans (via Bangor University) 

The programme is subject to monitoring and evaluation, and this work will help to inform the development of projects and proposals for the new UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
