Tenants satisfaction survey results revealed

In October 2023, the county council surveyed 3,852 council tenants to collect their views on the services provided and find out how satisfied they are.

The STAR (Survey of Tenants and Residents) satisfaction survey is carried out by Anglesey council's housing service every two years giving its tenants a chance to have their say.

Survey results showed that 82% of tenants had overall satisfaction level in the service and 86% are satisfied with the safety and security of their home.

It also found that among tenants:

  • 83% are satisfied with their neighbourhood as a place to live
  • 82% believe their rent is value for money
  • 81% reported that the trust the housing service
  • 78% are satisfied with the quality of their home

Head of Housing Services, Ned Michael, said, “The results of this survey and the feedback we’ve received from tenants is very encouraging. However, we will not rest on our laurels, we understand that the service needs to continuously improve and action plans are being developed to ensure this happens.”

He added, “I would like to thank our tenants for getting involved in this survey. By listening to their views and working together we can improve our services even further.”

The 2023 STAR survey saw 38% of tenants responding and having their say on how satisfied they are with the services provided across our housing estates.

Deputy Council Leader and Housing Portfolio holder, Councillor Gary Pritchard, explained, “The STAR survey is an important tool that allows us to measure tenant satisfaction across the Island. I’m very pleased to see that the vast majority of our tenants are satisfied with their homes and the service overall.”

He added, “It’s essential we continue to listen to our tenants as we continue look at solutions to improve our housing services.
