Anglesey Council Leader, Councillor Llinos Medi, has congratulated GCSE, AS and A-Level students on their success during what has been an extraordinary school year.
The Coronavirus crisis has caused difficulties in classrooms across Wales and had an unprecedented impact on this academic year. However, Cllr Medi remains extremely proud of our young people’s success and has paid tribute to their resolve.
Cllr Llinos Medi said, “This is the culmination of an academic journey which began when these young people first stepped foot into their local primary school. They have shown commitment and drive over many years and the results achieved at A-Level and AS last week and GCSE today demonstrates that their hard work and resolve has paid off.”
“Given the impact of Coronavirus, it is important now, more than ever, that we celebrate the successes, abilities and devotion of our young people."
"I'd also like to thank all of our schools' staff who have worked so hard in the background to support our young people to gain these qualifications; and the parents who have been there for them through so much recently."
Anglesey Chief Executive, Annwen Morgan, added, “My heart felt congratulations to the all Anglesey A-Level, AS and GCSE pupils. I would like to wish each and every one of them the very best as they move on to the next exciting chapter of their lives. Their success is a tribute to their hard work but also to every teacher who has taught them in both their primary and secondary school.”
