The Isle of Anglesey County Council has thanked Stena Line after the company’s Holyhead crew and staff made a generous donation to local children.
Foster Wales Anglesey has recently been presented with hundreds of toys and gifts which will be presented to looked-after children before Christmas.
The generous donation formed part of Stena’s Santa Line Campaign 2022. The campaign is supported, funded, and donated by the company’s employees right across Ship and Shore on Irish Sea South.
Christmas will be looking brighter for foster children on Anglesey with more than £2,000 worth of goodies heading their way this festive period.
Children and Families’ Service portfolio holder, Councillor Gary Pritchard, said, “We have received an overwhelming token of generosity from Stena Line staff, which has meant that many vulnerable children on Anglesey will receive more gifts this Christmas. We would like to put on record our appreciation and thanks to everyone for their extremely kind and generous donations. This scheme will help bring a smile to the faces of countless children across the Island this Christmas.”
Joanne Clowes, HR Manager at Stena Line said, “Our mission for our Santa Line Campaign is that ‘every child deserves to smile at Christmas’. With the over-whelming response we received from all our Stena Line colleagues, both onboard and ashore, we are delighted to be in a position to do just that for foster care children on Anglesey. I would also like to give a huge shout out to all who assisted and volunteered with their free time to assist on this project, especially Mark Daly.”
Fôn Roberts, Director of Social Services, said on behalf of Foster Wales Anglesey, “We would like to give a sincere thanks to Stena for their fantastic gesture of good will. The gifts will go to Foster Wales Anglesey for the children with our foster carers this Christmas. Thank you for your incredible generosity and support!”
