Coronavirus case confirmed at Ysgol Uwchradd Bodedern

There has been one positive Coronavirus case confirmed at Ysgol Uwchradd Bodedern.

However, robust social distancing measures at the school have ensured that no one else has been designated as a close contact of the positive case. Parents and staff have been informed earlier today (Tuesday, October 20th).

There is currently no evidence to suggest transmission within the school setting and the school will remain open to all pupils.

The secondary school is working closely with Public Health Wales, Anglesey County Council and NHS Wales Test, Trace and Protect to ensure that all the appropriate measures are in place to protect students, staff and the wider community.

Anglesey’s Chief Executive, Annwen Morgan, said, “The wellbeing of our pupils, staff and wider community is our main priority, and we will continue to monitor the situation at Ysgol Uwchradd Bodedern, as well as other affected schools, to see whether any further action is needed.”

She added, “Coronavirus rates are currently rising on the Island and unfortunately we are seeing more and more cases in our schools.”

“None of us can afford to rest on our laurels as far as this terrible virus is concerned. It is vital that we all continue to follow Welsh Government guidance at all times. Wash your hands regularly, wear a face covering when required and keep social distancing.”
