Statutory notice: Ysgol Corn Hir

This is a statutory notice saying that Ysgol Corn Hir will admit 3 year old pupils on a part time basis on 1 September 2023.

Notice is given in accordance with section 42 of the School Standards and Organisation Act (Wales) 2013 and the School Organisation Code that the Isle of Anglesey County Council, having consulted such persons as required, proposes to lower the admission age at Ysgol Corn Hir, Ffordd Cildwrn, Ynys Môn, LL77 7YW, so as to admit pupils part time in the September following their 3rd birthday.

At present Ysgol Corn Hir admits children full time in the September following their 4th birthday. The school is currently maintained by the Isle of Anglesey County Council.

The Isle of Anglesey County Council undertook a consultation period before deciding to publish this proposal. A consultation report containing a summary of the issues raised by consultees, proposer’s responses and Estyn's views is available on the Isle of Anglesey County Council website (www.anglesey.gov.wales)

The proposal is proposed to be implemented on 1 September 2023. The Isle of Anglesey County Council (the local authority) will be the admission authority.

The nursery will accommodate 50 children aged 3 on a part time basis during the first year of implementation.

Anyone may object to the proposal within a period of 28 days from the date of publication of these proposals that is by 17:00 on the 14 November 2022. Objections must be submitted in writing or by email and objections should be sent to the Programme Manager, Corporate Transformation, Council Offices, Llangefni LL77 7TW or to angleseyschools@anglesey.gov.wales.
