A critical early step in preparing a new Local Development Plan is identifying the key issues, opportunities and challenges facing Anglesey and setting the overall scope of the plan. Isle of Anglesey County Council has prepared a vision, objectives and options consultation document to gather early stakeholder input.
The consultation document includes:
- key issues, challenges and opportunities for the island
- a draft vision and supporting objectives
- an outline of the proposed policy direction
- a series of growth options (scoping how much development is needed)
- three spatial options (scoping where development should go)
An initial integrated sustainability appraisal (ISA) has also been prepared, presenting:
- a compatibility analysis of the draft LDP objectives and ISA objectives
- an appraisal of proposed growth scenarios and spatial options
The consultation will take place from Thursday 19 February 2026 to Friday 20 March 2026.
All comments must be received before 5pm on Wednesday 25 March 2026.
