A5 Llanfairpwll Active Travel scheme: consultation

This consultation ended 15 February 2023

Original consultation

Purpose

An image of people walking on a pavement next to a road with a lorry on it.The purpose of this consultation is to seek your views on the proposed A5 Lon Graig to Lon Refail Active Travel (walking and cycling) scheme.

Background

The current footway provision along Lon Graig to Lon Refail does not currently conform to the Active Travel standards primarily due to the narrow footway width, lack of kerb height, lack of sideways safety zone as well as poor forward visibility.

The proposed scheme involves widening the existing circa 1.3m wide footway to a nominal 3m wide shared-use path. Making the area easier, safer, and more convenient to get around by foot, bike, and improved access to public transport.

As part of the Active Travel (Wales) Act 2013 it is a requirement for all Local Authorities in Wales to map and plan suitable routes for active travel.
