Traditionally when your child is transfers to secondary school, before making an application to the school, you and your child would have had an opportunity to attend open days and evenings to see the wonderful work that takes place within each school and to provide information specific to their schools.
The Coronavirus pandemic has made schools consider whether this is the right thing to do in the current circumstances.
All Anglesey secondary schools have decided that they will not hold any open evenings at their schools this year.
The safety of our young people is paramount and having large groups of pupils and parents attending open evenings increases the risk of transmitting the virus and is therefore no longer an option.
However, you can now explore the schools online as this year many schools will be using their websites to showcase their schools and adding resources to help Year 6 pupils and their parents to get an insight into each school.
These resources could take a variety of formats; virtual tours, headteacher speeches, videos of the school in action etc.
