Red weather warning for strong winds for Anglesey, Saturday morning (7 December) with a risk to life
The Met Office have issued the following weather warnings on Anglesey over the next days:
- Yellow weather warning for high winds (Friday 3pm to 3am Saturday)
- Yellow weather warning for rain (Friday 3pm to midday Saturday)
Red weather warning for high winds Saturday 3am to 11am with a risk to life
- Amber weather warning for high winds (Saturday 11am to 9pm)
- Yellow weather warning for high winds (Saturday 9pm to 6am Sunday)
Keep an eye on the Met Office website for regular weather warning updates.
Britannia Bridge
Britannia Bridge may need to close for periods of time - this may include a full closure for all vehicles during the red weather warning.
Go to Traffic Wales for the latest North Wales traffic updates.
We also anticipate that some roads across Anglesey may need to close for periods of time due to fallen trees and debris.
Natural Resources Wales will share information and advice about flood warnings and preparing for flooding.
Please plan ahead and only travel during these periods if absolutely necessary.

Closing all of our leisure centres in Amlwch; Holyhead; David Hughes, Menai Bridge and Plas Arthur, Llangefni tomorrow (Saturday, 7 December).
Recycling centres at Penhesgyn and Gwalchmai
Closing both the Penhesgyn and Gwalchmai Household Recycling Centres tomorrow (Saturday, 7 December).
Libraries
Closing all libraries tomorrow (Saturday, 7 December).
Oriel Môn
Closing Oriel Ynys Môn and café tomorrow (Saturday, 7 December).
Public toilets
Closing all public toilets tomorrow (Saturday, 7 December).
Country parks
Closing the Holyhead Breakwater Country Park and Dingle Local Nature Reserve, Llangefni, tomorrow (Saturday, 7 December).
Piers
Closing both the Beaumaris Pier and St George’s Pier, Menai Bridge tomorrow (Saturday, 7 December).
Flood gates at Beaumaris, Trearddur Bay and Bull Bay
Flood gates at Beaumaris, Trearddur Bay and Bull Bay have already been closed. For your own safety, we kindly ask for people not to open the flood gates.
