Childcare for 2 to 3 year olds with Flying Start

Flying Start can provide high quality funded childcare during the school term for 2½ hours a day, 5 days a week for 39 weeks a year.

You may be able to claim back up to 85% of your childcare costs if you are eligible for Universal Credit.

Student Finance Wales

Qualifying students in higher education may be able to claim a childcare grant.

Students in further education studying in Wales may also be able to claim help with the cost of childcare from the Financial Contingency Fund.

National Insurance Credit

You may be eligible if you are:

  • a grandparent, or other family member
  • caring for a child under 12 years old usually while the parent or main carer is working
